The Lillies had a cupcake-tastic meeting this evening with Samantha Hill, Heavenly Cup Cake Baker from ‘Cup Cake Crazy’. Sam started her masterclass by telling us how she got started making these cute little cakes and showed us some photos of her lovely creations.
We were then given a demonstration of icing and decorating cupcakes and some top cupcake tips – did you know that you can freeze iced and decorated cupcakes, even using butter icing? that if you add some oil to your cupcake mix the cupcakes will keep longer? and that you can make cupcakes using flat-bottomed icecream cones instead of paper cases, so your cupcakes look like mini icecreams? Neither did we!
After being shown what to do we were given cupcakes, bags of icing and a mind-boggling array of decorations, including sugar paste flowers and hearts, chocolate and sugar stars, glitter, shimmer spray, flags and sprinkles, and the miniature works of art shown in the photo were created (and then some were swiftly eaten!).
