May Meeting – Resolution and 10th Anniversary Celebrations!
This month we considered the NFWI’s resolution on Mental Health Matters. The NFWI urged all WI members to recognise the importance of parity between mental health and physical health, and take action to make it as acceptable to talk about mental health issues as much as physical health issues, and to lobby government for better support for mental illness.
To find out what we knew about mental health, all members took part in a Mental Health Stigma quiz and were surprised by some of the answers. Following a discussion, our members were asked to vote whether they were for or against the Resolution and we came out unanimously in favour. Our vote will be taken to the Annual Meeting in Cardiff on 8th June where it will be discussed further.
May 2018 also marked The Lillies WI Lite’s 10th Anniversary. To mark the occasion, one of our members, Ros, baked a beautiful cake. Following tea and a slice of the delicious cake, we played party games.
