1st prize in Inter-WI Show!

The Lillies entered the Warwickshire Inter-WI Show, held today at Rowington Village Hall, and we are extremely over-excited to report that Chris won 1st prize for her coat made of recycled materials (“Craft”)! The judges awarded her 19/20 marks and commented that her coat was “Gorgeous!”.

Becky’s victoria sponge (“Baking – Victoria sponge”) was awarded 11/12 for it’s flavour, which as we all know is the most important aspect of any cake! Mandy entered a jar of her delicious strawberry jam in the “Preserves” class and Anna entered a floral arrangement in the “Floral Art” class (set theme “Gold, Silver and Bronze”), which the judges thought was “An inventive idea” – admittedly it did look quite different to the other, more traditional, displays!

When we returned to collect our entries the village hall was packed with members and guests from the 22 Warwickshire WIs who had entered the various classes of the show.
