Glorious garden party

The weather gods were smiling on The Lillies on Saturday and sent glorious late summer sunshine and warmth for our garden party, held at Anna’s. Our ladies responded by turning out in their summer dresses – a rare treat this year! The theme for the afternoon was a recipe swap and cocktail making demonstration, so we all brought along samples of our favourite recipes for each other to taste. There was quite a selection,  including: flans; potato bread; pork pie; spicy rice; cheese twists; parmesan choux bites; olive and caper palmiers; Sintra cheesecakes; coffee kisses; schokokugeln; blackberry and cherry pie; and a stunning chocolate and strawberry gateau. We hope to put all the recipes on our web site in the near future, on a new ‘Recipes’ page.

The cocktail making was expertly demonstrated by our guest mixologist Laura, who showed us how to make orignal and raspberry mojitos, raspberry daiquiri’s and strawberry daiquiri’s (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Laura was then kept busy making batches of each cocktail for us to drink, and we all agreed that we could get quite used to having cocktails made for us while we sat and enjoyed the sun!
